"I see trees of green..."

Well maybe not trees, but I see green! Made me think of Louis Armstrong's song ytoday when i was at The Center. "What a wonderful world" and "I see skies of blue and clouds of white." So it was good day in collage continuing to create new papers, and then in quilting where I am starting a second quilt with the "rag" edges for my son.

Forgot about taking pictures in collage, with all the busyness, but snapped a few. Here's Bernie starting with a juicy wash.

And the next one is Judy's after adding drops of rubbing alcohol. Neat, huh? And the bottom picture is Elena's tableful of papers. Distressed magazine papers after wrinkling and sanding, using stencils and sanding, washes with salt added, and washes with rubbing alcohol drops added. Beautiful!

Home late afternoon to find Mark now with the stomach flu!

Red-wings and catching up

I am sure these were the red-winged blackbirds that I heard yesterday. Spring is almost here!

And, catching up with the last few days, last Friday, after poetry, was Marge's workshop where we made these wonderful "flag books". I got to use some of the paper I made in Jacqueline Sullivan's class at the calligraphy conference last year. Very special paper to me.

Then in yesterday's calligraphy class, we are studying uncial this session.
Today, I am home working on papers to show my eleven inspired and inspiring collagers in my class tomorrow.
And...Happy Birthday to Brent! 21 today!

Babysitting beagles

Last night I slept with the beagles. Julie and Rob went to visit Brent at school for the weekend. This is "Missy". She is a very good beagle. She loves to run the perimeter of the fence all the time, just to make sure there are no bunnies or coyotes that come too close.

Had my little sketchbook with and so did a little quickie of her.

And this is "Abby". She is a good little beagle too, except she barks for food all the time. She usually thinks 3:30 a.m. is a good time for a snack too! She is blind and so we forgive her as she doesn't know what time of the day it is.

And then she snoozes most of the rest of the day.

More ink blowing

Last night Danielle and Aunt Julie did some ink blowing. Aunt Julie was going to her book club, so they made some bookmarks for her to take to her friends. Today Danielle has the stomach flu!

Busy week

Yesterday in drawing class, we had so much to talk about that there wasn't much time for drawing. We looked at Lois' sketchbook from her vacation though and that is always a learning experience. Her wonderful pen and ink drawings brought me right to the spot, and I needed that little "vacation". She had set up a still life and so I quickly got in a little sketch, just to have something from the day. Today is two poetry classes and a book-making workshop. I'll tell you about it later...

Sprouts!

What's this? What's this? It's sprouts! It's sprouts! You look so hopeful, but it's still cold outside! Saw these little guys when leaving quilting class today. Almost done with my quilt. And what a nice collage group this morning!

Breakfast!

Someone's peeking around to see what's going on!

While I was peeking out at this beauty.

Waiting his turn...

First in line! What a lovely tail you have.

Me too!
Running for a hair-cut this morning, but had to peek out to see if anyone found the bread I cut up yesterday to put out. When I make a breakfast casserole, i just can't throw out those crusts. Someone would like them, and here are the "someones". The rest of the day will be a fun day! Making samples of creative papers for my collage class to do tomorrow!
