Classes back in session!

Snowy week for the beginning of classes this session, but it was a really pretty morning...

I love the colors of winter.

Ooooo shiver-y!

But there's always a warm fire to greet the art class in the Log Cabin.

Lois picked these samples for us for some inspiration.  Love them!

I had decided to work on this baby robin though; a picture I took last Spring when I could hear some loud chirping outside of the Cabin...and there he was, waiting for his Mom to bring a worm!

Baby Robins always have this serious, kind of angry look on their faces...they're so funny!

Larry came in from the Woodcarving class to show us his wonderful Wolf that he finished carving.

It's so lifelike that you just wanted to touch it and talk to it.

Back home, here's my resident wildlife still buried in the snow.

Looking back...

...to December festivities.  Julie and I always have, for years, a Christmas Breakfast with our friends, Linda and Jan.  We take turns having this little party and we each bring a dish or two of comfort food for this warm-hearted breakfast.

This year, Linda hostessed our little celebration at her house.

This is Bower.  "Hey!  What's up here?"

We make a craft.  Here is Linda's sample reindeer that we're going to make.  A wine cork and she has some really interesting trees in her backyard with pretty little branches.

Her pretty tree...

with the "porcupine" ornament on it.  Forgot I used to make those years ago!

So here we go choosing from the supply pile...

Hannah says "hmpf"...no food!

Fa-la-la...

la-la-la-la...

It's a herd!  They look like little miniatures of the reindeer that they make at The Center out of logs and big branches.

Oh, Bower...

winter art

Danielle's art project here yesterday.  Beautiful red cardinal against that blue sky, snow falling, and she even put a few seeds on the snowy branch for him to eat.  Thank you to www.artprojectsforkids.org .

Snow...snow...snow...

Snowed all day yesterday.  So pretty, but hubby had to break out the snow blower.

Henri was ready for his favorite game of "hide the ball".

"Get in there!  I'll find you!"

"Are you there?"

Two different ways of viewing the snow, I guess.

"I see you in there!"

"Ha!"

"I won!"

and hubby's still blowin' the snow...

Turning the page...

My favorite artist and author, Susan Branch.  I love her little drawings and her words...and I love her calendar.  Although the months go by so fast, I can never wait till it's time to turn the page and see the next month.  So here was December, and turning a whole new year...

Here's beautiful wintry January.

Henri just wants to be out in the real stuff...

Happy 2014!
