This morning is my collage class. Putting the final touches on "Audrey". Also started a smaller "companion" piece, which is what I will suggest to some of my gals who finish up a little faster than others. Maybe even a little series?

Yesterday's Tea
Yesterday was a beautiful day for a Tea. A "High Tea"! The tables were dressed in pink tablecloths with a vase of freshly picked wildflowers in the center. Virginia Bluebells, Pink Bleeding Hearts, Tulips of assorted colors. The serving tables were full of wonderful goodies prepared by all the volunteers. And all the 130 guests arrived in their straw hats and gloves. Sonya and I met them at their tables and helped each make a little remembrance booklet of "tea poems" for the occasion. The speaker was Joan Murphy who gave a wonderfully uplifting talk on "It's a Wonderful Life". She spoke of not holding on to negativity; letting go of it. Forgive. Turn negatives into positives. Spread happiness in everything you do. Everyone went out with a smile and it was a very enjoyable day for all.

Sunday, May3rd
Today is the 4th Annual Spring Tea at The Center. The oven is warm and I am baking away and getting prepared for my volunteer duties. There will be over one hundred guests for tea and goodies. It's a pretty morning and I know it will be a delightful day!
Another fun thing that is going on at The Center, this weekend, is a new fundraiser called "Barn To Be Wild". Our executive director, Dave Sanders, is in the process of spending 27 hours in the barn with the pigs, goats and other animals! You can click on to watch at www.barntobewild.org . Please do!

My love of journals
This morning I took down my class's exhibit at the Palos Park Library that had been up for the month of May. Then visited the Alphabetica III exhibit, of the Midwest Collage Society, at the Orland Park Library. Mary Warner created the idea of using an old set of educational alphabet cards to inspire the collage collection. It will be there until the 29th of this month.

Beauty shoppe for Henri!
"Okay, I'm beautiful! Let's just go home now."
Today was grooming for Henri and he was a very good boy. Even when we came in to see if he was ready, and he was still on the table getting the finishing touches, he just stood still like a little (little?) gentleman. Back home and on with our day, I am planning summer workshops for The Center. And tonight is the opening reception of the Alphabetica III exhibit at the Orland Park Library.
