Class tomorrow

Collage class tomorrow and our final winter piece for this season.  I know by the end of this session everyone will be thinking Spring!  So here's my start, using papers that we made on the first week of class.  I loved this scene taken by my new dear friend and distant relative in Germany.

Wednesday's Winter

One more winter collage for the class before thinking Spring!  Nancy has found a beautiful scene to portray.

Teri, telling a story.  Love that vintage figure.

Love those papers we made, Bernie!

Lora Lee's winter garden developing.

Cynthia, enjoying this grid format we did a while back.  They are fun and she does a beautiful job with meaningful images that speak to her.

Some more "No Excuse Art Journaling"

Daily, weekly and monthly pages for our journaling class.

It's fun to include collage, lettering, painting, drawing...

or whatever you want...all in one journal.

A little touch of creativity every day...

All works in progress.

Journaling

Two more little watercolors left to do for January.

Colors of January and will be filling in more small patches of color and words.

Back in class!

Last Wednesday, being the first class of a new session, we made painted papers...

A day to play!  Everyone always likes creating new papers to use in collage...

"I see skies of blue, and clouds of white,
the bright blessed day, the dark sacred night..."

Flat papers, crinkled papers, paint spreading, paint spackling

 The morning flew!

"I see trees of green...wintry woods too...
I see them bloom, for me and for you..."

Painting on top of neutral serendipity papers.

Lora Lee, working on her wintry garden...

"and i think to myself
what a wonderful world..."

and Nancy's beautiful finished piece from last session!

It's blooming again!

My grandmother's plant
I just can't imagine how old it is...
Maybe over 100 years old, I guess.
It's bursting out of it's pot again and so i must repot.
I know she did; she had pots of them on our "back porch" when I was little.

Mrs Downy

I really need to sit and watch my bird feeders.   I did happen to catch Mr Downy, with his beautiful patch of red on his head and didn't have my camera handy, in the tree in my backyard one day...

and now here's Mrs!  She was very busy at that suet.

p.s.  finally feeling better

Still celebrating...

I've been a little under the weather the last few weeks, but trying to catch up, here a a few pictures from our annual holiday brunch with some favorite friends of Julie's and mine - Jan , Linda and Melissa.

We do a little craft afterwards and this year, Julie wanted to make some refrigerator magnets.  Fun!  I did a couple of Valentine ones and also Julie had copied my mother's handwriting on her recipe cards, so was nice to see that on one...

Julie's included reduced copies of my watercolors of Brent, Tony and Melissa when they were younger.

Lois has been doing her homework!  I love all her columns and a nice space to journal.
 More to come...
