"No Excuse Art Journaling" for March...

Starting off with sharing our ideas for our journals and we're entertained with lots of funny stories. They are all looking so beautiful; I love them all!  At the end of the year, what wonderful and artful memories we will have.

Marge showed us some of her lettering journal and some easy lettering to use in our journals.

And Sandy shared ideas about Zentangles!

Then I showed the girls the background paper, that Gina showed in her class, using acrylic inks and stencils.

A fun day!

"No Excuses Journaling" group for February

I had to miss being at this session, but Lois took over for me and took these wonderful pictures!

Pastel rubbings that you can write on...

Add a little wash to the background lettering so that the birds stand out more.
Maybe it needs a little blue and a little snow too...

March is flyin'

Even though March is a long month, it seems to be going as fast as the wind.
Working on my March journal pages, here is my "Peep" (credit card size) for the third week.  I did it from a magazine photo, but it reminds me of a little road in Michigan when we had a place there.

A "Writing Page" using acrylic ink background.  I love this little poem and the lines about the lark on the wing and the snail on the thorn.

I decided to add some "inchies" to my pages; they always add a fun little touch to a piece.  Next week in our Journaling get-together at The Center, I will show the girls the acrylic ink technique and make some "inchies"...

Found this poem among the "Spring" collection in my little poetry book that my Mom gave me on my Confirmation Day in 1955.  It's too bad we don't know who wrote it, but love the language...

and another "inchie" found it's place.

We just had our corned beef and cabbage dinner yesterday and baked Irish Soda Bread.  It sort of looks how I feel - ate too much of it!

And just needed to show you the overnight bag that Danielle sewed all by herself - by hand!
I love the cuff and the bright buttons.

Journaling daze...

Adding a few more ideas to inspire my journaling class...

Colors of the month and some additions of dictionary notes and shamrocks

So this is the Collage page that I previously posted and as the month continues on...

I sometimes add to that collage...

as new things happen and inspire me, like the Grackles.

This was last month's "Peeps" and for the last week, I had drawn these little tulips and never did paint them, but I do like just a little pen&ink too, so I'm leaving them like that.
Whatever makes you happy!

Home!

My husband had a little stay in the hospital (7 days) and I stayed with him...and we are happy to be back home!  I had my journal with me, so that helped me keep track of the days and what went on...

My March Collage.  Time change; the trees are still bare; but trying to put spring in my step!

A few colors of the month, words of the month and a little collage.

Brent's birthday...26!

Love doing the little weather report.

I saw those little colored hippopotamus in the hospital gift shop and then found one in a magazine.  They were quite pricey, so this one will do; just to remember them.

And two weeks of "Peeps", the little line drawings with watercolor added.
This kept me occupied while my hubby was sleeping...
