The Art Show

Sunday was our annual art show at The Center...

 

Rain coming, they said, but it sort of held off for most of the day...

 

so lots of friendly faces ventured out.

 Here's Denise, our quilting teacher, with her colorful pieces to sell.

And we even had a book signing with author, Nancy Gee,  and illustrator, Raye Ann Saunoris.  A wonderful children's book, "The Secret Drawer".

A Challenge

On Facebook, a friend nominated me to post a black and white photograph that I take, for 5 days in a row.  Just thought I'd post them here for you to see too.  It's fun!  And I have always loved black and white photography!  

 

Oh!  And i get to do what I want...today's my birthday.  Happy Birthday to Me!

the sparrows...

Drawing birds this week and the sparrows are so skittish.  They scatter away as soon as I approach the window...those that are watching me anyway.  I was able to quickly sketch this guy as he was so busy eating and had his back turned to me.  The others flew when I peeked out through the shutters but this one stayed a little while and I even got a picture of him so that I could finish his colors.  Just a quickie, but i will remember him...

I don't know where the weeks go, but I'm trying to get back to a sketch a day!

Class progress this week

Added a few more things to my "Nest", including a bird (one of many that clipped onto the branches of my Grandmother's tree), but this one has a broken leg so she is happy to have her own spot.

Did i say that this began with a cigar box?

All grandmothers' birds have to have lace curtains!
