So, here we are all at home, mostly anyway. decided to resurrect my old blog and give that a try to connect with my classes and whoever is interested.
This is just a little prompt that I send out last week. Making a design with snipped shapes of all different papers. Wonky or not. I seem to like the wonky for this because to me it shows interest and action.
And then...Collage or illustrate your day today. This was yesterday...Grrrrrrr. And they are on the larger index cards so I will attach them to a page in my journal.
I am rusty with entering the things I want on here but I'll struggle along and hope it comes back to me.

Morning April🌸
And you Blog too! Am I Surprised? maybe at first but then I got to thinking creative people can’t be held down or held back! What was disorienting at the onset of Corona (remember when we called “it” that!? ) We didn’t know how to act, what to do OR not do!
Look what has come From the Expressive Arts world! Who would have thought Beethoven Symphony No.9 by the Philharmonic Orchestra on Zoom could be so moving?! If you haven’t seen the performance check it out on YouTube. It brings tears to me eyes watching these dedicated artist who found themselves Alone...which reminds me of what Churchill muttered “If you’re going through hell, keep going.” And THAT is exactly what you are doing April with your revitalized blog!
You asked us for feedback about rejoining in Art Journaling..I think it is imperative that we each do what is at our comfort level - keeping in mind that when we perform the recommendations of the 3 biggies; masks - handwashing - distancing
we also need to pay heed to our “gut” and if it just doesn’t feel right then don’t do it!
So as The Brits say
Stay Calm & Blog!
See you on the other side of whatever we end up calling this time we are in! Ginny
Thank you, Ginny, for your meaningful comment! I will surely look up the Beethoven Symphony and I love Churchill's quote - there's one for my zine! Thank you for contributing that. :)
How delightful that you are back in blog world! Maybe I'll get inspired too. I think I stopped about the same time you did. I'll let you know! I just love the various hues of the yellow petals....are those all magazine pieces? As for meeting, I recommend we try zoom. Because we could each hold up our journals in front of our computer cameras or cellphone cameras, or could even prepare a slide show of our pages if we were tech-oriented. And we'd get to see each other. Like maybe on our usual time and date? I think Mark could set it up for us nd send us a link. If not Mark, I think I could set up a free Zoom account but the free ones are only for 40 minutes. Or maybe someone else in the group has one. I have attended lots of Zoom meetings in the past few months and it's easy and the next best thing to actually being together.
Hi Lois! Yes those were all magazine page colors! Fun to hunt for them. And yes! Let us know if you get back to your blog! Julie's friend was just going to teach her Zoom for a meeting that they need to have sometimes, I think. She was going to show me. Or I'm sure Angel can help me. We could give it a try anyway. At least it would be something. It was so good to hear from everyone on email.
Still thinking about Zoom, Lois, and wondering if it would work - but there's also something with Google that Julie was going to find out about from a friend.
