The New Woodcarving

It's done! Our woodcarvers, at The Center, completed this beautiful masterpiece and it's ready to hang in Log Cabin #3. Our art teacher, Lois Hrejsa, designed it and with the guidance of our woodcarving instructor, Keith Miller, the carvers have depicted all the buildings of The Center located on the west side of Southwest Highway. Here you see The Wayside Chapel, the Chapel Garden and the Herb Cottage.

Here we see the Retreat Building and The Lodge.

Here are the art cabins. Log Cabin #2, Log Cabin #3 and Log Cabin #1.

A treasure for sure.

The other woodcarving, done of The Children's Farm and everything on the east side of Southwest Highway, is the mantle on the huge fireplace in The Anderson Building. Another timeless treasure.

Hi April,
That woodcarving is beautiful. You have to see it to really appreciate it. I like how you took the photos in sections, it is a long carving. I know there was a lot of work and love in it. It will grace log cabin #3 as a wonderful welcome to all who come to the Center. Also, a wonderful tribute to Keith's teaching abilities!

This was done for The Center by the woodcarvers. It has a permanent place in the new Log Cabin #3, as does the other carving of The Children's Farm has it's permanent place in The Anderson Building.
