Oh Henri'

Henri has had a couple of nights of interrupted sleep.  Me too.  Shaking his head, I knew his ears were the problem.  So off to see Dr. Dawn this morning.  Yep!  The same as with us humans.  This winter weather has been nice, but not for allergies.  Inflammed ears, so back on more antihistamines and antibiotic.

He's a good boy at the doctor's and loves Dr. Dawn and gives her lots of kisses.  But...glad to be on the way home again!  Time for a nap, Henri.

Poor Henri! My Sadie also has had trouble with her ears so I finally tried a different dog food, salmon sweet potato based and that has helped her allergies a lot! No more little chew spots on her legs, her hair has all grown back in, no more ear problems. Hope you both get to sleep better tonight!

Thanks Ann and Jan. You know, Jan, my daughter has been telling me to try to switch to a different dog food, although we give him a food with lamb and rice and the ingredients seem okay, but I am ready to switch. Salmon and sweet potato, huh?

We had a cock-a-poo that had ear problems. The vet gave us ear drops and once we put them in she pretty much quit with the ear problems for the night.

Awe..poor Henri. I hope he feels better soon.
Our dog, Rocky, has allergy problems too. If we don't put "Advantage" on him on a regular basis he is miserable. The vet says they can be seasonal or food allergies. Table scraps and certain dog foods (like: ATTA BOY) can set dogs to itching. Seasonal blooms...or even just ONE flea bite can trigger it.

He seems to do fine with the Costco Kirkland brand lamb or chicken dog food, and regular montly treatments of, "Advantage". If we don't use that he will itch or scratch his ears until he harms himself.

Oh they say dogs are very close to us humans as of the effects of food and enviroment too..worth a try..my Choc. lab every year in the spring he would get something going on with his ears too. till we changed the food..now HanK shakes his head to signal he has to go out then the big lip shake and you duck as you feel the small bits of slobbery come flying you way...
