the beginning

Last week, we had a lovely vacation in Door County.  Different for us; we usually stay further up in Ephraim or Fish Creek but this year we stayed in Sturgeon Bay at  The Chanticleer Inn.  Very pretty.  Very peaceful.

Beyond that fence, to my delight, were sheep!

These are Border Leicester sheep.

They're very sweet and shy.

Baaaaa...

and beautiful flower gardens...

Our time

Enjoying some beautiful Wisconsin scenery and breezes this week. Seeing deer and I think there's an explosion of bunnies up here! I love hearing the crows too; they carry-on about twice a day! When having lunch at a very lovely restaurant in sturgeon bay the other day, I ordered the very special featured fresh locally grown summer salad. After taking a few bites, a very fresh and alive little lettuce caterpillar (or tomato worm) came wiggling out! Well, they were right. It certainly was the freshest, right? Oh dear!

and more tags

Now making some tags in little series.  Maybe nice to frame and maybe nice for a special birthday; I have an old ledger with dates in it.

I love this mesh-y stuff and I can' t remember where I bought it!

Working on workshop

Later this month, I am doing a Tag Workshop at The Center.  I love tags.  They can be created for a small gift or a little work of art to be framed.

So here I am having fun creating and incorporating different little pieces of things into my tags.

Buttons and Lace.

Posies and Beads.

Shapes made from old book pages.

Bottle caps.

Today, our outdoor sketching class is cancelled because of a promised rainy day, so I will play with my tags again with some more ideas.  I have a couple more weeks to make lots of samples.  My workshop will be on August 22nd at 1:00.

today's quilting workshop

A produce bag!  That was one of the projects for today's quilting workshop with Denise.  Here is Julie's olive bag; so cute!

And here is mine.  Veggies!  They have a mesh panel so that when you go shopping at the Farmers' Market, the produce can breathe.  We also started a project bag that is also so great and will show you when we finish it.

another warm weekend

Friday, there was some rock painting going on over at Julie's.  Danielle had fun with that!  A caterpillar and a ladybug.

Then the mermaid was in the pool...

the garden fairy was dancing...

the pears are growing...

and the apples multiplying.  Hopefully we can get an apple crisp before the worms do!

And Missy was just enjoying the shade underneath the apple tree; one of her favorite spots to watch for bunnies.
