It's December 1st and we've had a night of snowing! Some years we are still waiting on Christmas Day for snow. Maybe this year we will get our share. I hope we get some this coming weekend. It's the Christmas Retreat at The Center! The woods are extra beautiful all dressed in white. And, since I co-host this wonderful event, I will be calling Lois this morning to finalize the planned festivities of decorating and craft-making for the soon-to-be-arriving guests. I have been dreaming of red delicious apples with tapers for the dining table, collage pendants for the bedroom doors, little handmade booklets for woodland thoughts, peppermint stick yule logs with greetings, star garlands for the Christmas tree, cardinals and mice made from pinecones, frozen luminaries with cranberries and branches, evergreen swags, snowmen bottles, tinsel moon and star ornaments, Victorian calling cards, collaged fabric snow scenes, fabric balls, and more. I guess we could spend the week!
Yesterday was the beginning of that magical holiday feeling. We were invited to a 40th anniversary party for a favorite couple of ours, and it was a lovely affair. She, in her wedding dress and him, his tuxedo. A wet chilly day outside, their beautiful home was warm inside with the big stone fireplace blazing and a roomful of some of our favorite people. A memorable day.
