Monday's class

Yesterday, in class, we made serendipity papers.  First putting down a layer of colored tissue on top of the text wove and then adding the scraps of papers, so if there are any open spaces or translucent scraps, the colored tissue will show through.  After that, we applied a acrylic wash to unite it all.

Then the fun part will eventually come; choosing the "sweet spots" to put into your collage.

Here is Cynthia's progression...

"don't fall in love with your paper...it'll be going into your collage in pieces."

Cynthia's "squares" collage is coming out beautifully.  Now she will add some other little hints of interest between the squares.

I love how she has placed the owl!  Isn't he wonderful?
