About Me

- My love of nature and love of paper have influenced my love of drawing, painting and making things for as long as I can remember. For me, there is excitement in the visual pleasure I get from copying the beauty of nature. The colors. The gentleness. With my artwork, I seek to inspire and enlighten the viewer.

Oh April, Zoe will want to make one of them. Do you just cut the bottom off, paint the inside and then just squash it flat????
Made from a 2-liter clear pop bottle, I cut the bottom off at the line. Flatten the bottom and cut the tail shape. Draw your pattern on the OUTSIDE of the bottle with a black Sharpie. Then paint on the INSIDE with tempera paint, starting with the eyes and then the most inside (the nose), working your way toward the opening. You can also use gel pens (the instructions say) but I used temperas. Takes a while to dry, but then they are strung up using a string attached to a bead inside the bottle. The tail is then stapled in one or two places depending on your design, although it does flatten and keeps its shape pretty good without. You can hang several in a window, like stained glass.
Bet the kids love these "flying" fishes. So colorful. Bet we'll see some swinging through the air or near a window at the Center's art building. Hope so!!!

Hi April these are so cute, there is one hanging at the LaGrange Art League now for a junior high art show there having. What fun!! hope your weekend was a great time.
I love it too! I'll need to start drinking pop! Or maybe water comes in that size?
