Summer Art at Lake Point Towers

Our drawing/painting class had it's first outing of the summer today. Every year, our good friend Sally, invites us to her place in Lake Point Towers. One of her windows overlooks Navy Pier.

The view is breathtaking. Quieter now in the morning, but as the day wore on, activity was bustling down there.

Chicago is so beautiful!

It seems, most years we go a little later in the summer and choose to draw outside on the "Garden Floor", but it was quite windy and chilly yesterday so most stayed in and set our sights on something from the 20th floor.

This was a lovely little view with lots of activity. Below is my start on a little watercolor. Ilove this little watercolor pad. It's almost 8x8 and a perfect little size for toting around on these excursions.

Oh April, I want to do stuff like that some day... it's got to go on my list or one of my task list...what fun. Love that you do these kind of things, you really do take care of your artist.

What great views! Lovely little water colour too.

Thanks for the birdie update and I'm so glad for your quick thinking for a soft landing.
