The party's over.....la-la-la

Yesterday was my Valentine party. After Brunch, everyone got busy thinking about creating some valentines.

Menu:
Ham and Asparagus Casserole
Breakfast Casserole with Sausage and Mushrooms
Fruit Salad
Chocolate Madeleines
Pink Dainties
Seven-Layer Cookies
Hazelnut Creme Coffee
Assortment of Tea

Happy guests!
Busy guests!
Fun!
After everyone was gone, I sat down to peek into my valentine "mailbag".

Look at these beautiful valentines!

I know everyone worked very hard to make a valentine that everyone would love.

Everyone said that every year they get better and better!

It's a lot of work, but all the effort is so appreciated!

Every single one is a beloved treasure.

And this special valentine is absolutely yummy! Dark Chocolate/Cranberry/Pecan muffins!

Julie made "Grandma's" wonderful chocolate Madeleines. They are just meant to be at a Valentine party!

And I made Julie's favorite cookie, "Grandma's" Pink Dainties". They disappeared!

The doll's tea party went well too.

I think, next year, they will have to make some valentines!

"The Party's Over, it's time to call it a day.
They've burst your pretty balloon and taken the moon away.

It's time to wind up the masquerade.
Just make your mind up the piper must be paid.

The Party's Over. The candles ficker and dim.
You danced and dreamed through the night,
it seemed to be right just being with him.

Now you must wake up, all dreams must end.
Take off your make up, The Party's Over.
It's all over, my friend. "

And this morning, I have a wonderful bread, baked by Lois, to have with my breakfast! Isn't it pretty?

"The Party's Over" is an old song from the 50's. 1956. Composed by Jule Styne and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green. (You encouraged me to look it up.) Introduced in the 1956 musical comedy "Bells Are Ringing" with Judy Holliday. Nat King Cole, Smoking Popes, Lonnie Donegan and Shirley Bassey have also recorded it. It just came into my head after my guests had gone home.
