Hubby and I took a ride out to Silver Lakes Country Club yesterday to see two of our woodcarvers from The Center "doing their thing". Keith is our carving instructor and John is one of the number one carvers in the class. Near completion, Keith and John have carved a golfer out of a giant tree stump.
The carving part done, they are now sanding and smoothing the surface.
You would think the three of them were talking together.
"Yep, that's the spot!"
You can see the size of the trunk it began from.
They carved away...
and look who was inside! He will be holding a putter in his left hand.
Just a few more finishing touches...
and here he will be, looking out on the practice green, encouraging the golfers.
My love of nature and love of paper have influenced my love of drawing, painting and making things for as long as I can remember. For me, there is excitement in the visual pleasure I get from copying the beauty of nature. The colors. The gentleness. With my artwork, I seek to inspire and enlighten the viewer.
