Last night some friends and i packed a picnic lunch and went to see the First Folio Production of "The Merchant of Venice" at the Mayslake Peabody Estate in Oak Brook. When I was young, we never studied Shakespeare in school, but now after seeing a few plays, I am maybe beginning to understand his language.....a little. I thoroughly enjoyed the play. The acting was wonderful and it's such a lovely place to be.
Here is the outdoor stage set. Perfect! We could not see many stars, but the crickets and tree frogs supplied beautiful background music.
