A Christmas Tea

Yesterday was one of the Christmas Teas at The Center.  My friends and I are hostesses at one of them each year and it's just a wonderful time there.  The table is covered with finger sandwiches and goodies...

from one end to the other.

Even one of our gingerbread houses from the retreat got to be the center of attraction.

Every year, Lois makes her delightful igloo cheese ball with accompanying "black olive" penguins!

 Cakes and cookies!

As the guests arrive, they get to make a bag of potpourri to take home.

Denise helped with the cutting of the tags and ties for the top of the bag.

The tables are all set with Christmas plaid tablecloths, red cloth napkins and white dishes.  So pretty!

The fireplace is blazing and on this cold cold day, there's warmth in the air.

When everyone is finished eating, stories are read.  Lois reads "A Cup of Christmas Tea" by Tom Hegg.

Mary Ann and Cynthia also read.  And I have to ask the name of their book again as it's a darling story and brings lots of smiles.

The windows are dressed in their finery too.  Lace curtains and evergreen boughs.
This day.  A wonderful day that brings extra happiness and a warm memory to the holidays.
