Lunchtime on Saturday and our time was coming to an end.
All our gingerbread houses decorated the table.
Then it was on to making the wreaths and swags with balsam branches and the things we collected from our walk in the Pines earlier that morning.
Lois helping with the wreath making.
A lovely table centerpiece!
Decorating the sled.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
The final touch - the bow.
Soon it was time to say good-bye.
Julie and I were not able to stay for the farewell Tea. It was the day of Danielle's Sunday School Program and so we hurried off. We arrived in plenty of time to see her and all the other children excited about their parts and songs. When it was time, they all paraded around the church before the actual program began. Then each class would come out for their part in the Nativity play. When we thought it should be Danielle's class coming out, we could not see her. Where was she? What happened? All the classes were on the altar in their places. The Christ child was born and beautiful music began to play. All of a sudden we all turned around and here came Danielle, walking down the aisle from the back of the church in a white robe carrying the Star of Bethlehem on a post. Calm as a cucumber and sweet as an angel, she walked slowly down the aisle proudly carrying this most important Star, smiling at everyone seated. Our buttons were busting! We are so proud of her. A most cherished Christmas memory.
